healthy life-style journal – Sept 9, 2015

After learning my defeat against losing weight yesterday (I know; it has just been a week that I started my healthy-eating strategy, but would it hurt not to gain weight during this time?? No…), I went downย big time. I am not giving up yet, but this is really demotivating. I promised myself this to be an honest journey, so here are what I have done to further gain weight since yesterday night (irony is high here):

Yesterday dinner: 1 big sweet pastry filled with apple, presumably very unhealthy, purchased from the convenience store. I am not sure what else I ate; did I have salad? probably. eh..

yesterday late-night snack: 1 apple, 1 egg with 2 slices of whole wheat bread, and maybe other stuff that I do not remember right now. The only good stuff I have done was to drink a cup of green tea – it was delicious.

Today: breakfast; forgot my breakfast – munched on peanuts at the office. Coffee with creamer and brown sugar as usual.

Lunch: none

Late-afternoon snack: another apple-filled pastry… In case you are wondering, I bought another one filled with blueberries and am very likely to eat it tonite….

Dinner: not planning anything right now, meaning it is going to be unhealthy; see above.

Exercise: 30 min walking in the afternoon (at least I did not let this one go).

I am not writing this to be a bad role model for those who would like to lose weight by eating right. Please DO NOT eat like this. I am just frustrated withย many other stuff in life right now. It is not an excellent excuse, but I know that is an expected hurdle that I will eventually overcome. Over time..

Till then.

  1. I love that you are honest — and so proud of you for confessing. There are no expectations for you from me, fellow-blogger. You do the best you can with what you have. Tomorrow is a new day – sleep is good – I always find I have more self-discipline when I am well rested. Take care and good luck tomorrow!

      1. She’s great. Also Fight Fat after Forty. I learned a lot about how women need to eat. We need “woman food”! I plan for a protein snack and a fruit mid afternoon. I don’t need as much at night and definitely not as much as husband and dancing daughter need at that hour. She also about stress and its affect on weight gain.
I presume she has lots of YouTube out there too.

        1. you seem to have it all under control – well done! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am looking at her website and a couple of things she said made sense to me; urge to eat without feeling hungry, the dopamine hormone and food (and other addictions’) connection. I am certainly interested in reading/listening to her ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. ๐Ÿ™‚ you know me ๐Ÿ™‚ I rant time to time about myself and it is okay :)) (hey, it is good to be openly complaining about myself ๐Ÿ™‚ ) anyways, skipping breakfast and lunch is my life-long habit unfortunately (except at the weekends when I always have breakfast). I sure am continuing with my aim but certainly not yesterday, not today ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Agree with the people above, don’t be so hard on yourself. Take a nap, have a candlelit bubble bath and do something you’ve wanted to do for a while like a day out somewhere. Try sorting out life’s niggles you’re finding frustrating at the moment rather than focussing on losing weight. If you sort them out I bet the weight loss will happen almost without you having to think about it
