sleeping well = check
catching the bus in the morning = check
coffee, coffee, lots of self-brewed sweet coffee = check
working well = check
physiotherapy = check
walking back home = check
enjoying the red lentil soup (that I had cooked a while ago and frozen for later) = check
being amazed by how well the soup felt = check
physiotherapy stretches = half check (hmm…)
enjoying my evening and night = check
collecting garbage for collection tomorrow = check (I so dislike this activity…)
watching Sleepy Hollow and enjoying it = check
pear and milk combo = check
not using the reading glasses all the time (habitually I seem to do this, which makes my eyes tired….), eventually seeing the monitor just fine (as long as things are not too small), and feeling great about this! = check
deciding to limit the use of reading glasses at the office (as much as possible) and especially at home = check
reading interesting blogs = check
watering my almost dried up plant = check
feeling better than the weekend = check
gratefulness = check 🙂
this is a very uplifting poem / piece of work. There are so many things to enjoy in and among the harder parts of life.

Hi John; yes indeed. they are small things or everyday stuff, but I made an habit of writing a “joy journal” many years ago (I sometimes write it in my blog too) which really uplifts my mood. It is difficult at first to recognize things we like or are good to us, but after a while it becomes way easier and very fulfilling. perhaps you would like to give it a try too 🙂

Hahaha I just went to get glasses on Saturday. They haven’t come in yet but I can’t wait to start using them! I’ve had really bad eyes all my life and hated glasses (because the prescription was so high and glasses so heavy) but now 4 years after surgery, my eyes aren’t quite 20/20. I can’t believe how excited I am to get something I’ve hated my whole life!
